Trump Phone

The fact of that matter is that's it not made in America at all, they claim future batches will be made here, but I’ll believe that when Trump realizes Biden's CHIPS and Science Act was actually a good idea. Even if Eric Trump Cared (he doesn't), America doesn't have the infrastructure to mass-produce smartphones... unlike America's ability to mass produce diabetes. Trump's tariffs and undoing of the CHIPS and Science Act, has killed any chance of domestic smartphone manufacturing so were stuck with 一个尴尬的尝试，想要制造一款爱国的智能手机 

On paper, it sounds alright:

• 120Hz AMOLED screen (1080x2460 at 6.8")

• 12GB RAM (great for most people)

• 256GB storage (better than the 128GB base models of this price point)

• Headphone jack and SD card slot (the return of KINGS we never should have lost)

• Android 15 (no word on future support, but at least it's recent)

• Fingerprint sensor and face unlock (unusable without these it IMO)

• 5000 mAh battery (fine depending on the chip) 

But there's a problem. There is no working prototype! No word on what the chipset will even be?! More of a mystery then school cafeteria 'meat'. We only have one picture of the product! The screen brightness is unknown. There’s no HDR. There’s no warranty information. No performance benchmarks. FUCK ALL!

This thing is marketing copy that's all talk and no show! The camera setup is a triple lens (50MP wide, 2MP macro, 2MP depth), but the image quality will almost definitely be ass trash. Most of what makes phone photos good in 2025 is software, and unless you think Trump’s tech team has better AI than Google or Apple, prepare for blurry images of Trump voting boomers and night shots that look like Bigfoot or UFO sightings. On a side note, really wish cheap-ish phone's, like this, went with one or two better cameras instead of three shitty ones.

The USB port is even more prehistoric than the phone's core demographic It’s only USB-C 2.0 and there’s no wireless charging either. This is a phone clearly made for people who still think plugging a phone into a PC is something that you only do if you hack alphabet agency's as a side hustle.

the MSRP comes in at $500, which is a bit overpriced but not that bad if you're into the atheistic, and a better value than previous Trump grifts. That being said there's also a phone plan that's $47.45 a month, which is admittedly quite clever given he is the 47th and 45th POTUS. That said, if you want to reserve a preorder for yourself that will run you $100. Given there is no working prototype, I would hold off on preordering, even if you're willing to overlook its flaws or ironically consuming the product.

So let’s compare it to a REAL phone! One you can buy right now that works!

It doesn’t have MAGA laser etching. But it’s a real, working device from a company that actually understands making a quality product.

What it doesn’t have:

• No headphone jack 

• No SD card slot

• 12GB of RAM

If those are must-haves for you, go ahead, but at least you’re not gambling on whether your phone exists or not. Oh and I wouldn't be surprised if it didn't have 5G because... I mean... It's a Trump Phone

What it does have:

• 6.1-inch 1080p OLED screen at 120Hz with HDR (smaller but better)

• Google Tensor G3 chip (We KNOW the chip)

• 128GB or 256GB storage options (smaller base model but still offered in 256GB)

• 64MP main + 13MP ultrawide camera with Google’s great photo tools

• USB-C 3.2 for fast data transfer

• 18W wired charging and 7.5W wireless charging

• IP67 water and dust resistance

• 7 years of software and security updates

• Refurbished in excellent condition: $286

This means for under $300, you can get a REAL PHONE with a great camera, regular updates, wireless charging, fast data speeds, and years of support. If you're willing to pay about the same price, or ideally, a little more. You'll get something substantially better. Meanwhile, the Trump Phone is a bunch of fancy promises wrapped in thin-gold plating.

Final Thoughts

Is the Trump Phone a scam? Not yet, but, Trump is an infamous grifter and there's much better ways to spend your money! But it could be far worse, and to the core demographic of technologically illiterate boomers, I'm sure they'll enjoy it. It is also alt tech, which a lot of people want to foster support for.

Will I be buying it?

Absolutely not! Hell no! Not even ironically!
